Presidential Pilots: Colonel Scott Turner (VC-25A)
Career Highlights
He previously served as vice-commander of the Presidential Airlift Group at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland
On January 4, he flew then President-elect Obama to Washington aboard a 757 which is not used as Air Force One, but "to carry the vice president, first lady and other top officials."
He shares the name with another Air Force chief, the bald Chief Master Sgt. Scott Turner, who works at Air Education and Training Command, and appreciates the work of chaplains. You can contact him at scott.turner[at]tyndall.af.mil
He also shares a name with an Air Force captain who flew a mission to Afghanistan. They can't possibly be the same person because a captain in 2005 couldn't make it to colonel in only four years
That is, there are at least three Scott Turners currently serving the U.S. Air Force
Command was relinquished to him by now-retired Colonel Mark W. Tillman, who shares a "W" with the President he served
